Custom Web Application Development
What We Do
-
Product Management
Not every project will require this level of planning. Many steps in the process can be combined.
- Define requirements by analyzing your business needs. We call these “use case drivers”
-
Create a Functional Requirements Document based on these use case drivers. This includes walkthroughs from
a user perspective, detailed user interface definitions, and a Mind Map of the entire experience.
-
Create a Technical Requirements Document based on the Functional Requirements and the overall business
drivers. This includes considerations such as scalability, adoption, supported browsers, devices and platforms,
and ongoing maintenance post-deployment.
- Establish Milestones and provide a single liaison with you, the client.
-
Issue, feature, and bug tracking are handled through our own
Redmine
Project Management System. This is available throughout your project for monitoring progress,
reporting issues, verifying milestones, and collaborating on roadmap details.
-
Programming Magic
- Source Control (subversion or git) is used on all projects, regardless of size.
- Development and Staging environments are provided
-
We can handle all major development environments and languages. We are not a “Ruby shop” or
a “JavaScript shop” despite being avid fans of both. You name, we’ve probably done it &mdash
Perl, PHP, Wordpress, Drupal, Mootools, JQuery, Mysql. There’s even a little Visual Basic and shell programming
in our DNA (although it makes us cry).
-
Support & Deployment
-
We’ll help as little or as much as you need us to. Our experience with
MerusCase
means we know what to expect as you deploy your application and plan for ongoing support needs.
-
Hosting of your production application (including automated backups and server maintenance) can be provided.
Why You Should Work With Us
- Because we’re smarter than the average bear. We know what we’re doing.
- Because our level of integrity is unmatched.
- Because we’ve done it before.
- Because we care about the success of your business and how our work helps you.
- Because all of our engineers are based right here in California.
- Did we mention that we know what we’re doing?
Pricing
We generally bid all projects with two prices, one based on time and materials, and a fixed bid option.
A
time and materials
based Statement of Work includes and estimate on the work required, the engineering and project management
resources required, and whatever existing technology and/or software
Fuery Solutions
can bring to bear on the effort. All estimates are generated based on a day rate of $1200. Because of the
nature of this estimate, one should expect a variance of 10-15% in the final cost. In the event the project
suffers from “scope creep” (the addition of features not included in the original scope of work),
we commit to proactively informing you long before sticker shock becomes a worry. This is highly recommended
for projects where the specifications are unclear or the size of the project is small enough to warrant cutting
some of the project planning and documentation steps from our normal project management process.
The
fixed bid
option is the same as the time and materials estimate, with an additional 30% markup. In the event a project
suffers from unforeseen delays or our estimates prove to be off, regardless of cause,
Fuery Solutions
absorbs these additional costs if this option is chosen. This is useful for clients who desire less collaboration
and expect minimal changes to the project specifications once work begins.
For bigger projects, we generally recommend breaking it up into phases, starting with the planning and specfication
stages.
